Renee
is a designer, strategist, and wellness advocate who helps brands make change.
I started my career as a freelance designer for entrepreneurs and small business, later went on work in social impact, politics, health and wellness, and community development.
I was on track to secure my dream to design at Google Creative Labs when I hit an impenetrable wall. Confronted with the force of two years of accumulating mental, physical and spiritual health issues, the future I’d worked so hard for slipped through my fingertips and I was forced to leave everything and start again from zero, searching for what life was all about if not the pride of hard-won achievements, professional recognition, and career success.
Battling an endless string of sleepless nights, anxiety, digestive disorders, and mystery body symptoms, I found Polarity Therapy, an integrative system of medicine which uses food, lifestyle, bodywork, movement and spiritual philosophy to help address imbalances on every level. When my body healed, the next two years I spent studying it professionally healed my mind and spirit, and began transforming my relationship to myself, to other people, and to life itself.
Like learning to walk again, I rediscovered how to follow my heart and my passion, to think different, listen to my body, and really take the time to enjoy life again, reflecting deeply on the lessons I learned along the way. I began a daily meditation practice which I still practice today
After several years of professional practice, seeing clients, and teaching, I returned to the world of design equipped with new tools and insights in the wellness space, helping to brand wellness programs, evolve a scaling behavioral health brand, and designing strategy for organizational change.
Today…
Over the last few years, I’ve been involved in community conversations about suburban permaculture, social justice education, curriculum innovation, and ethical business that’s good for the planet. I volunteer for two different international organizations that align with my values and work with small businesses on social media, web design, and brand strategy.
My work has been featured at the Art Director’s Club in New York, and published in Graphis and The Process.
